To collect items used for rig building u need to ulitize Salvager (market: Ship Equipment/Electronics and Sensor/Scanners/Data and Composition Scanners). To use it u need Salvaging skill (prereq: Survey III,Mechanic III). Each skill level is increasing chance of salvaging by 5% (so maximum is 30%).
Rig groups
Armor Rigs - armor upgrades in cost of max velocity.
Astronautics Rigs - engeneering upgrades(max velo and etc) in cost of armor.
Drones Rigs - Drones parameters upgrade in cost of CPU capacity.
Electronic Superiority Rigs - electronics upgrades in cost of shield amount.
Energy Weapon Rigs - Energy Weapon enchancments in cost of increased Powergrid usage.
Hybrid Weapon Rigs - Weapon enchancments in cost of increased Powergrid usage.
Launcher Rigs - Missle\Rockets enchancments in cost of increased Powergrid usage.
Projectile Weapon Rigs - Weapon enchancments in cost of increased Powergrid usage.
Shield Rigs - Shield enhcancements in cost of increased signature.
For using rig u nees base skill Jury Rigging and special skill for each group (all in Mechanic). Each skill level is decreasing rig's negative affections.
And there is 2 more groups that have no penalties and don't need special skills:
Electronics Rigs - electronic systems upgrades (scan-probes, ECM\ECCM modules...),
Energy Grid Rigs - Powergrid upgrades
Tip: if Slavager says that nothing found - don't stop salvaging that rig, components could be found not from 1rst scan. U should scan wrek until it expodes.
